The Swift Current Kinettes had a rocking time at the Salvation Army Jan. 15.
The group held its second annual overnight Rock-a-thon to raise money for Telemiracle.
Despite being down two bodies from the previous year, 20 girls aged nine to 14 raised $2,100 in pledges from local residents and businesses. A $100 increase from last year’s efforts.
Top earners this year were: Shelby Thibault, Kendra Sundquist, Nadine Steinley, Boston Palmer and Tara Marshall.
The Salvation Army donated their gym for the event, food was provided by Boston Pizza and Co-op, and door prizes from Empire.
“They have fun, we put some music on and they dance,” said Loretta Thibault, organizer. “Hanging out with some friends and meeting some new friends, that’s what Telemiracle is all about.”
