The Kinsmen and Kinettes of Saskatchewan are gearing up for the 35th Telemiracle, set to take place on March 5th and 6th, 2011.
The Telemiracle is a telethon, organized to raise money for the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation, which aims to assist Saskatchewan residents who require the use of special needs equipment and access to medical assistance.
The Foundation recently held its auditions and is currently in the selection process. Those chosen to perform will be announced by the end of December, 2010. Joan Steckhan from the Telemiracle Foundation told us that we can expect a wide variety of performances, from musicians and singers to dancers and magicians.
Those who are interested in auditioning for next year should mark September 1st, 2011 on their calendars and be ready to sign up quickly to get a spot. Auditions take place annually on the first weekend of November.
The Foundation encourages fundraising activities in communities all over Saskatchewan. Communities can organize their own events, or get in touch with the telemiracle office in order to participate in the Foundation's Helping Hands Fundraising Program. The hands are available to businesses and schools free of charge, sold to the public for $1.00 each, signed and then displayed in your institution.
