The national cast that participate on Telemiracle do get an honorarium which basically covers their travel expenses for the weekend. It is only an honorarium, not the usual fee they get for other performances. The Saskatchewan talent that is chosen to be on Telemiracle also get an honorarium based on mileage to help with their expenses for the weekend. |
There is usually 12 in the national cast and up to 50 Saskatchewan acts that participate in Telemiracle. |
Anyone that is requesting funds from the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation fills out an application form and sends it to our provincial office. The Kinsmen Foundation board meets once a month to review the applications and allocates the money every month- application forms can be obtained from any Kinsmen or Kinette club or through our provincial office in Saskatoon at (306) 652-2161. |
The national cast is chosen so that we have a variety of music and the show appeals to people of all ages. The Saskatchewan talent that auditions is chosen--based mainly on geographic representation of the province--we want to make sure the entire province is represented. |

Telemiracle is a 20 hour live television telethon and it takes approximately 1200 Kinsmen & Kinettes and 150 production volunteers to make Telemiracle run. |
At the main centre Telemiracle (alternates between Saskatoon and Regina) there are 60 phones on stage, 40 phones offstage, 20 visa/mc phones and 3 website computers. |
Over the past 33 years, Telemiracle has raised over 81 million dollars. |
The Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation assists hundreds of people every year, on an individual basis and through organizations that we have provided with funding. |
Kinsmen Telemiracle was started in 1977 and was broadcast from the Centennial Auditorium in Saskatoon. Several Kinsmen from Saskatoon came up with the idea of a telethon as a fundraiser for the Kinsmen foundation. No one dreamed that Telemiracle that first year would raise over $1 million and it has been going strong ever since. |
At the present time, these are the only two cities that have a facility that can accommodate Telemiracle for the television broadcast. Because of the requirements for space for phones, volunteers, and t.v. cameras and production mobile, TCU Place (formerly the Centennial Auditorium) in Saskatoon, and the Conexus Arts Centre (formerly the Centre of the Arts) in Regina are the only two facilities that can accommodate all these needs. |
